Salem Freight International’s inception coincided with the construction and commissioning of the Main Abu Dhabi Sea Port, the Mina Zayed. The year was 1968. The city of Abu Dhabi comprised just three roads then. But the ruler, H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan had a vision. He dreamt of converting Abu Dhabi into a modern metropolis, flush with skyscrapers and interspersed with beautiful gardens .., a destination that would be recognized as a distinguished center of art and commerce worldwide. One of the avenues to this dream was in enhanced trade. The building of the Mina Zayed served as a first step and an important platform to this ambitious route. Mr Salem Ibrahim Al Saman, the founder of the Group foresaw the potential that this soon-to-be-commissioned port presented. And thus was born Salem Freight International. The Company has not looked back since, leading the way in providing premium shipping and forwarding solutions, and forging its own identity in mainstream as well as out of mainstream Logistics activities. )
